Peter Kelly
Comedy Writer
Peter Kelly is a writer and script developer with a distinctive talent for weaving humour into emotionally rich narratives. His work bridges theatre, film, and audio drama, specialising in stories that tackle complex social themes with authenticity and heart.

Peter’s credits include Gray Area, a dark comedy exploring social taboos, and Something’s Not Working, a workplace comedy that won Best Film at the Last Frame Festival. He also contributed to Easy, a dramedy about a stand-up comedian turned private investigator, where balancing sharp wit with weighty themes was key.
Across these projects and more, Peter has honed a unique ability to blend humour with serious subject matter in ways that feel natural, character-driven, and deeply human.

Beyond comedy, Peter’s experience extends into socially grounded drama. He has collaborated with production companies on scripts addressing systemic failures, addiction, homelessness, and mental health struggles, ensuring each story is rooted in authenticity through extensive research and a deep respect for the lived experiences it portrays.

Whether elevating a love story set against the raw realities of rough sleeping and addiction, or finding the right comedic beat in the midst of personal redemption, Peter brings both sensitivity and a light touch to every project he joins.
